We caught up with Gallant 22 hours later, in orbit around Generosity@Hive, a former hospitality and commerce station the Starbound repurposed into a habitat. It was abandoned out here when the panel arrays were smashed by a comet. The Gallant has piggy-backed the station systems and is running 5 mooring points off its own reactor.

First contact made with the Unidentified Faction appears to be at the Kotharhead crystal mines in the southern hemisphere of Osiris. Zeoforms and supporting troops of unknown configuration launched a surprise assault from orbit.

32 hours (UST) later, Starbound Transport and Research vessel Nothing Ventured sent out a distress call after detecting incoming “unknown pirates.” They reported coming under energy weapons fire and landing teams breaching their main residential compartments. The STaR last registered in Astrapelago with thirty official crew and nearly four thousand permanent residents. Contact was lost 2 hours later. Long-range sensor sweeps show that the Nothing Ventured is still operational and has changed course to head in-system.

This occurred at almost the same time as the attack witnessed by Sergeant Vronski of GuardsCorps on the asteroid Kudos to Angelico, indicating that there are multiple assailants. 

New vessels appear to have arrived through the Limit, as impossible as that sounds. Such readings and drive signature trails as have been detected originated out-system from their targets. Whilst not indulging in pure conjecture, it is hard not to conclude that these assailants have either discovered a heretofore unknown slipway, or do not come from within the Humanverse.

All reports and findings have been forwarded to major GuardCorps entities in Periphery. I have initiated an all-band rendezvous signal. What we face here does not appear to conform to Pact presentation and I believe is a threat to all major stakeholders in Periphery, regardless of political or cultural preference.
